Banks

Updated: Dec 10, 2021

Banks are financial institutions that allow people to deposit and withdraw money. These institutions often offer loans and other financial services. In the United States, most banks are backed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), which offers a safety net in case of robbery or other loss. Banks work with a for-profit model. Their counterpart, credit unions, work on a not-for-profit model.
